ONETUG Board Changes–Farewell @slobo80

It seems like clockwork that every summer we have changes at the ONETUG board.  We’ve been very fortunate to have an awesome, very passionate group of people helping run one of the best user groups around (yeah, I know I’m biased). In the past year we had great additions to the board with Santosh and Chelsea joining us and it is always great to see the community stepping up to lead the group.

Tomorrow night, we are saying farewell to Slobo as he makes his trek to Redmond to start a new job at Microsoft.  Slobo has been around the group for a few years and we saw him go from a “regular” attendee to a speaker – starting with Open Mic, then Code Camps and User Group meetings.  He joined our board a couple of years ago as the always-coveted Spammer Director of Communications role, and then moved to the role of Vice President last summer.  One of the coolest things he did was create the ONETUG podcast, you can listen to it here: http://onetug.azurewebsites.net/.  He was a key part of our group, we hate to see him leave and wish him the best.  Microsoft is gaining an awesome developer, he will do great out there.

Brian Mishler, our previous Director of Marketing is our new Vice President so we now turn to the community to look for a new board member.  If you would like to join us and contribute to grow the Microsoft .NET Community in Central Florida, contact us at board@onetug.org.  It’s fun to be part of an evolving board and I look forward to see the direction that our group takes in the next few months.
